October 2009

Well, October was a fairly busy month for the Mraz's...we went to the Glendale Fall Festival with Bob and Mary. It was totally cool, a must do again for next year! We found a new church home this month and have made some wonderful new friends there!! We got to spend a weekend in St. Louis with the grandkids...we went to see Tay play soccer but that got rained out so we made the most of the time there...a trip to the pumpkin patch, to the Blue Pizza Place (You'll have to get the kids to explain!) and the big boys took in a NFL game where they had too much fun...they were very close to the field...close enough to hear Brett Farve make his calls!!! Then on to the delivery of Jerry's new toy for the Man Cave...he was very happy and I may never see my husband on a weekend again!! We had a great time carving pumpkins at the Silva's...as good time was had by all - as usual!! Thanks Bob and Mary!! Then we finished out the month with Jerry (a.k.a. Paul Bunion) taking down a tree in our back yard that was a victim of last years ice storm. It had a pretty huge split in it and we were afraid it was going down with the neighbors fence...happy to say that it did come down and without taking the fence...yea!!!

There are some pictures attached at the bottom to go along with the monthly report...we hope you all enjoy and feel as truly blessed in your lives as Jerry and I do in ours...

Fun with the Grand kids!!

Newest addition to the man cave...

End of July Until October Update...

Well, it has been a while since I posted an update...we have been very busy since the move and it didn't help that I misplaced my password and just found it tonight. So, back to what we've been up to. As most everyone knows we moved from the Beltway to Kentucky the 1st of August, so there has been all the move excitement and then there was the almost 60 days that my dad spent in the hospital. So, Jerry had to pack out in Maryland by himself and I traveled back and forth from the new place to the hospital, first to the hospital in Kentucky where my parents live and then to the hospital in Nashville because Dad had so many complications they had to transport him to Vanderbilt. Not a fun time for anyone!!!

But we have overcome, Dad is home now and doing much better (thank you to everyone for all the prayers that were lifted up on his behalf!!) and we are pretty much settled into our wonderful new home in Elizabethtown.

We managed to do a few fun things during all of this time of transition...Matt, Jenny and Brandon all came to visit us at the new place. We went to South Carolina for a baby shower for Jenny. I got to go and see our grandson play his first soccer game and he scored a goal!! We have spend time here with our friends Bob and Mary and we have managed to spend some good quality time in our new home.

Now that things are starting to settle down a little, I will try to do better about keeping everyone up to date. Below are a few pictures of our journey since the end of July...

There are lots more pictures and lots more good times to share...keep checking I promise to try and do better now that we are finally home.

Mega Blog - The "Catch Up" One!

OK, so I have been really bad about keeping up with the blog. So, I am finally going to catch everyone up to where we have been, what we are doing and where we are going. My last blog was in March when Jerry had his farewell from DIA. So what have we been doing since then?? Well, below I have posted a couple of pictures from each of our events, there are a couple of events that I couldn't find the pictures from, so I will have to just tell you about those, these are not all in order of when they happened (that was too much work!)...here we go, this is kind of a long blog...

We went to New York City over the 4th of July weekend, we saw Wicked on Broadway...It was great, I highly recommend it!!

We took a trip to South Carolina to do Nana and Papa kinds of things with Jenny and Brandon, we can't wait for little Hunter to get here!!

We went to Kentucky on a house hunting trip and had lunch with our friends Bob and Mary...

All the girls went to Memphis for a wedding shower...

We had a wedding rehearsal in Memphis in May...

We had a rehearsal dinner...

And we had a beautiful wedding where we got a beautiful new daughter in law...

Mr. Huntington, my boss, turned 60 in May, so we had to have a party!!!

We sold a house...

We made a trip to Harper's Ferry...

We went to the Memorial Day Parade, downtown DC...

We had our end of the year party with our Teen Group from church...

We had our last "Parrot Head" party in Maryland...Kentucky here we come!!!!

We bought a new house in Elizabethtown, Kentucky!!!!

Jerry read in a Bible Marathon on the steps of the Capitol, Downtown Washington DC...This was totally COOL!!!

Our friends, The Mraz Family (Rok, Jerca & Julija), from Slovenia can to visit us. It was our first time to meet in person. We had a wonderful weekend, we got to show them a little bit of America and we got a chance to know them better. They are now a part of our family and we can't wait to see them again...this time in Slovenia!!!

And last but not least, I had my farewell...it was very hard, bittersweet and wonderful all at the same time. These people have all become my extended family, we have been together a long time and I am going to miss them all. We had a wonderful evening, they gave me some lovely gifts and we had just a great time!!!

We had a lovely farewell with our church family, they made us a beautiful blanket and gave us a book about Maryland. Unfortuantely I can't find where Jerry put those pictures, so I will have to add them later. Out of all the things we are having to leave behind, leaving our church family is by far the hardest. We love you all and we are going to miss you, but we do expect visitors to Kentucky!!
Well, I have shared a little bit of what we have been doing since March. We will depart the beltway this week, headed for the great state of Kentucky. One of the things that makes it so great is that it doesn't have a beltway!!!!! Being in Washington has been great, we have had some wonderful opportunities, times that we wouldn't trade for the world...but it's time to go back to our smaller town living, slower pace of life. So, with any luck I will have more time to keep the blog up to date. (-;
